{"id":10976,"date":"2026-02-14T19:02:56","date_gmt":"2026-02-14T18:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/belgium-begins-ending-unemployment-benefits-for-36000-recipients\/"},"modified":"2026-02-14T19:24:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-14T18:24:07","slug":"belgium-begins-ending-unemployment-benefits-for-36000-recipients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/en\/belgium-begins-ending-unemployment-benefits-for-36000-recipients\/","title":{"rendered":"Belgium Begins Ending Unemployment Benefits for 36,000 Recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Belgian Employment Office (Onem) has announced the start of official notifications to approximately 36,000 individuals registered on unemployment lists, as part of ongoing reforms to Belgium\u2019s unemployment <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%aa%d8%a3%d9%85%d9%8a%d9%86-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b5%d8%ad%d9%8a-%d9%81%d9%8a-%d8%a8%d9%84%d8%ac%d9%8a%d9%83%d8%a7\/\">insurance<\/a> system. <\/p>\n\n<p>The office stated that notifications will be sent electronically starting tomorrow, Sunday, while paper copies will reach recipients from February 16 onward. <\/p>\n\n<p> The measures involve a gradual termination of benefit entitlements between July 1, 2026, and July 1, 2027.<\/p>\n\n<p>The affected recipients are distributed geographically as follows: Flanders \u2013 15,926 people; Wallonia \u2013 13,963 people; <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/en\/grand-place-the-most-famous-tourist-attraction-in-brussels\/\">Brussels<\/a>-Capital \u2013 5,824 people; and the German-speaking community \u2013 180 people.   <\/p>\n\n<p>This step is part of a series of reforms initiated last year, which first targeted recipients of integration allowances, followed by those in the second and third benefit periods.
