The deal stipulates a total salary increase of 5.8% over three phases, with a minimum raise of \u20ac100 per month.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The new contract spans 27 months until January 31, 2028, prohibiting any warning or open strikes during this period. <\/p>\n\n<p>Around 925,000 employees with direct contracts with German states will benefit from the agreement, while the total number of beneficiaries, including all employees and retirees, could reach approximately 2.2 million people. <\/p>\n\n<p>The agreement covers workers in <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/%d9%88%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%a6%d9%84-%d8%a7%d9%84%d9%85%d9%88%d8%a7%d8%b5%d9%84%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d9%81%d9%8a-%d8%a3%d9%84%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%86%d9%8a%d8%a7\/\">road<\/a> administrations, university <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b9%d9%84%d8%a7%d8%ac-%d9%81%d9%8a-%d8%a3%d9%84%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%86%d9%8a%d8%a7\/\">hospitals<\/a>, prisons, IT sectors, animal care facilities, daycare centers, and <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/en\/german-state-shifts-to-remote-learning-and-warns-of-ice-hazards\/\">schools<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Additional benefits include an extra \u20ac150 per month for trainees and junior staff, along with improved working conditions in eastern <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/%d8%ae%d8%b1%d9%8a%d8%b7%d8%a9-%d8%a7%d9%84%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%86%d9%8a%d8%a7\/\">Germany<\/a> to align with western standards, including protection against dismissal and reduced <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/%d8%b3%d8%a7%d8%b9%d8%a7%d8%aa-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b9%d9%85%d9%84-%d9%81%d9%8a-%d8%a3%d9%84%d9%85%d8%a7%d9%86%d9%8a%d8%a7\/\">working hours<\/a> in three university hospitals in the east.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Frank Wernecke, head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verdi.de\/verdi-international-unity-means-strength\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ver.di union<\/a> delegation, described the negotiations as the toughest in years, noting that the final outcome is similar to last year\u2019s agreement on federal and municipal government salaries.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Stefan Evers, Berlin\u2019s finance senator, called the agreement painful but manageable to maintain the attractiveness of public service, while Brandenburg\u2019s interior minister Ren\u00e9 Wilke considered it a recognition of employees\u2019 efforts during difficult times.      <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The unions Ver.di and dbb Beamtenbund reached an agreement with the Tarifgemeinschaft deutscher L\u00e4nder to resolve the dispute over public sector wages in German states.
