{"id":12644,"date":"2026-04-14T18:57:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T17:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/reactivation-of-turkish-railway-line-near-syria\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T21:30:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T20:30:05","slug":"reactivation-of-turkish-railway-line-near-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/en\/reactivation-of-turkish-railway-line-near-syria\/","title":{"rendered":"Reactivation of Turkish Railway Line Near Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Turkey\u2019s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced the reopening of a railway line running along the border with Syria, following the completion of extensive renovation and maintenance works aimed at improving transport efficiency and strengthening the region\u2019s logistics infrastructure.  <\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uab.gov.tr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure<\/a>, Abdulkadir Uralo\u011flu, stated that the line has been reopened to <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/en\/calls-in-germany-to-reduce-train-ticket-prices\/\">train<\/a> traffic after the completion of all rehabilitation works, which included upgrading both the infrastructure and superstructure across the entire network.<\/p>\n\n<p>The reactivated railway line consists of two main routes:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 325-kilometer line between Karkam\u0131\u015f and Nusaybin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A 25-kilometer line between Mardin and \u015eenyurt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This brings the total length of the rehabilitated network to approximately 350 kilometers along <a href=\"https:\/\/europedia24.com\/en\/turkey-plans-to-extend-its-railways-to-syria-and-connect-to-aleppo\/\">the Syrian border<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The minister explained that the works carried out were not routine maintenance, but a comprehensive renovation project aimed at addressing long-standing backlogs dating back to the period between 2011 and 2024.  <\/p>\n\n<p>He added that the line is now stronger and more durable after the infrastructure upgrades, allowing it to resume operations with higher efficiency and greater capacity to handle transport traffic. <\/p>\n\n<p>Uralo\u011flu confirmed that reopening this line will contribute to increasing freight transport capacity, supporting logistical connectivity, and enhancing economic integration in border regions. <\/p>\n\n<p>The move is also part of a broader strategy to develop regional transport networks and improve trade corridors in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turkey\u2019s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced the reopening of a railway line running along the border with Syria, following the completion of extensive renovation and maintenance works aimed at improving transport efficiency and strengthening the region\u2019s logistics infrastructure.
