Anyone who is already receiving the allowance doesn&#8217;t need to submit a new application because of a change in the amount; the adjustment is made automatically.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udd34 The trap: The benefit is only paid retroactively for the six months preceding the date on which the application is received. If the tax allowance is more beneficial for you \u2014 which usually happens with higher incomes \u2014 the allowance is applied and the amount you received is deducted from it. You do not need to submit any additional application.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#1307e3\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Three Common Mistakes<\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Believing that the amount increases with each additional child.<\/strong> It does not increase; the amount is fixed for each child since it was standardized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Failing to notify Familienkasse when circumstances change.<\/strong> Finishing school or university, the child moving to live outside Germany, or starting a full-time job \u2014 all of these changes must be reported immediately. Otherwise, the amounts received may become debts that must be repaid.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confusing it with Kinderzuschlag.<\/strong> This is a completely different benefit aimed at working families with limited income.
