Spain facilitates Schengen visa applications for Algerians

The Spanish Consulate General in Algeria has announced the launch of a new system aimed at facilitating Algerian citizens’ access to Schengen visas, by allowing appointments to be booked directly at the consulate in Algiers, without the need for online booking.

According to the consulate, the system has already come into effect, with twenty appointments allocated daily, from Sunday to Thursday, at 10:30 a.m.

The system allows applicants to submit their requests directly through BLS International on the following working day, provided that all required documents are completed.

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the goal of this temporary initiative is to increase the number of visas issued and ensure full transparency in the process.

Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, and the applicant must attend in person, as no third party is allowed to obtain an appointment on their behalf.

The passport used for booking must match the documents submitted to BLS.

The consulate clarified that this system does not replace online booking through the BLS website, but rather complements it to meet the growing demand for Schengen visas among Algerian citizens.

Applications must include essential documents such as the original passport, the completed application form, and all supporting documents required for visa assessment.

The consulate emphasized the temporary and limited nature of this service, as only twenty appointments are available per day, and no applications will be accepted without an appointment or through a representative acting on behalf of the applicant.
