Caixa Bank in Spain Warns Customers About Phone Scam
Caixa Bank in Spain has warned its customers about a rise in phone scam attempts targeting the theft of banking information, urging caution and advising against sharing any personal or financial details over the phone.
The bank explained that some fraudsters impersonate customer service representatives and contact victims through seemingly official calls, aiming to convince them to disclose sensitive information such as account numbers, passwords, or banking verification codes.
The bank emphasized that these attempts often rely on psychological pressure, with scammers creating a sense of urgency or claiming an immediate issue with the bank account that requires urgent action.
Caixa Bank stressed that its employees never ask customers to share passwords or security codes over the phone or via messages, advising customers to terminate any suspicious call and contact customer service directly through official channels.
The bank also advised users not to click on unknown links received via text messages or emails, highlighting that vigilance and reliance on official sources are the best ways to avoid falling victim to financial scams.
