Germany Announces Increase in Personal ID Card Fees
Germany has implemented a new increase in fees for issuing personal ID cards, affecting all citizens aged 24 and older, with fees rising from €37 to €46.
The German Ministry of the Interior also indicated that fees for applicants under 24 have increased from €22.80 to €27.60, citing higher manufacturing and labor costs as the reason for the hike.
The new fees in Germany will apply to all personal ID card applications and renewals submitted from today onward, including both new applications and renewals.
This change is part of the German government’s efforts to keep up with operational costs and ensure the continued efficient provision of services to citizens.
