Major Disruptions on Brussels Trams Near Midi Station
Brussels public transport company MIVB-STIB announced that tram services near Midi Station will be suspended this weekend due to essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
The works include replacing three old transformers, aged 25 to 30 years, and repairing the edges of Tram 82 tracks at Monaco stop on Brussels Street to ensure safe operation and improve service quality.
The following tram lines will experience significant route changes:
- Tram 4: Operates only between Stalle and Porte de Hal.
- Tram 10: Operates between Hôpital Militaire and Anneessens.
- Tram 51: Limited to Marguerite Duras and Porte d’Anderlecht, with service canceled at Lemonnier and Gare du Midi.
- Tram 81: Rerouted between Bara and Suède.
- Tram 82: Operates only between Gare de Berchem and Porte d’Anderlecht.
To reach Midi Station, MIVB-STIB advises passengers to use Metro lines 2 and 6, and bus services 48 and 50 have been increased to compensate for the tram suspensions and facilitate travel.
The company emphasizes that these measures are temporary and will help upgrade tram infrastructure while ensuring passenger comfort and safety in the long term.
