Sudden Proximus Internet Outage Disrupts Service Across Belgium
Home internet services provided by Proximus in Belgium experienced a sudden outage today, Thursday, affecting a large number of subscribers in several areas, including Herstal, Bastogne, Charleroi, and La Hulpe.
Residents in the affected areas reported a complete loss of connectivity. François from Herstal noted that the network went entirely offline, while Annabelle from Charleroi said her Wi-Fi signal was completely lost in her neighborhood.
Proximus, through spokesperson Haroun Ferro, confirmed that the technical issue is being addressed, with technical teams working to assess the scale of the problem and identify the cause of the sudden disruption.
The company added that it will provide regular updates on the repair process, though no specific timeline has been given for service restoration.
These outages come at a time when many households and businesses rely on the internet for work and study, making the prompt resolution of the issue a top priority for Proximus.
