Full Closure of the E313 Highway in Belgium for Bridge Replacement Works

Belgian authorities have announced the full closure of the E313 highway between Wommelgem and the R1 ring road junction, from the evening of Friday, April 10, until the morning of Thursday, April 16, to carry out replacement works on old, unusable bridges.

The Belgian Roads Administration explained that the closure affects all directions, with traffic being diverted to alternative routes to ensure smooth flow and driver safety.

Vehicles coming from Hasselt toward Antwerp must exit at the Wommelgem roundabout, while traffic coming from R1 toward Hasselt will be redirected via secondary roads.

Long-distance diversions have also been planned, including the E40 highway toward Brussels and the E19 toward Breda, to minimize the impact on intercity transport.

Authorities recommended that drivers use public transport during the work period to avoid delays and congestion.
