Germany Resumes Train Services After Partial Halt in the North

German railway company Deutsche Bahn announced the resumption of long-distance train services on major routes in Germany following a partial halt caused by severe weather conditions over the past few days.

Deutsche Bahn stated in an official announcement that trains have returned to operation on most main routes, including Hamburg – Hanover – Kassel and Berlin – Hanover – North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as services between Hamburg and Berlin. The company noted that operations are still running at limited capacity, and some cancellations may continue in the coming hours.

Deutsche Bahn added that this decision comes after a partial suspension of train services in northern Germany due to Winter Storm “Elli,” which caused disruptions on the network since Friday.

The company explained that additional services toward Denmark, the Netherlands, and coastal regions are expected to resume later today, emphasizing the importance of checking schedule updates before heading to stations via official apps or support services.

Meanwhile, the network warned that some delays and cancellations may persist during the transition to full service due to ongoing inspection and maintenance of infrastructure affected by the storm.
