Winter Storm Halts School Buses in Greater Toronto
The winter storm sweeping across the Greater Toronto Area has led to the suspension of school bus services in most regions, while educational authorities confirmed that schools will remain open to receive students.
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and the Catholic school board announced the cancellation of all buses, with schools remaining open. Buses were specifically canceled in Zones 1, 2, and 3, according to the Peel Student Transportation Services.
All buses in York were also canceled, yet schools continued to welcome students as usual. In Halton, buses in Zones 1, 2, and 3 were canceled, but schools remained ready to receive students.
Buses in the Niagara region continued to operate, though some delays were expected. Authorities urged parents and students to exercise caution when traveling to schools and to follow local updates on road conditions and weather to avoid potential accidents.
