New project for safe professional migration from Tunisia to France
Tunisia is set to launch a new phase of the safe professional migration project to France in the coming days, aiming to regulate labor mobility, provide legal job opportunities for young people, and reduce the risks of irregular migration.
The official launch of the new phase of the safe professional migration project is expected on April 8, 2026, as part of the THAMM+ OFII program, which is supported and funded by the European Union, in cooperation with the relevant authorities in Tunisia and France.
Promoting legal migration and job opportunities in France
The project seeks to strengthen legal and organized migration pathways between Tunisia and France by providing clear and defined job opportunities for Tunisian youth, ensuring their entry into the French labor market through official and safe procedures.
The program also aims to support vocational training and qualification in line with the needs of the French labor market, which helps improve employment opportunities for Tunisian workers in sectors facing labor shortages.
European funding and international support for the project
The project is implemented with financial support from the European Union, as part of joint efforts to enhance organized professional migration between North African countries and European states, especially given the growing demand for qualified labor in certain sectors in France.
The THAMM+ OFII project builds on previous programs aimed at organizing professional migration and providing legal alternatives to irregular migration, focusing on the lawful integration of foreign workers into European labor markets.
A step to reduce irregular migration to France
This initiative is part of broader efforts to curb irregular migration by opening legal and safe channels for those wishing to work abroad, helping to reduce the risks migrants face during illegal migration journeys.
The project is also expected to strengthen cooperation between Tunisia and France in employment and vocational training, while supporting economic development through the contribution of Tunisian professional skills to the French labor market.
