Canada Launches a New Tool to Assess Immigration and Permanent Residency Eligibility

Canada has launched a new online tool that helps prospective immigrants quickly determine their eligibility for permanent residency under the Express Entry program, with a single click and a fast assessment of each applicant’s profile.

The tool, known as CanadaVisa+ (CV+), prioritizes applicants who are proficient in French, as well as those with qualified work experience in specific occupations within or outside Canada, in line with the Selection by Category (CBS) system used in immigration draws.

To use the tool, applicants enter information about their work experience, educational qualifications, language proficiency, and potential job offers, allowing for a preliminary analysis in less than 10 minutes. Users can then save their profile and create an account to track updates for their category.

The tool is particularly useful for applicants in fields such as healthcare, science and technology, engineering, mathematics, skilled trades, and agriculture, helping users determine if their current points make them eligible for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

It also allows users to compare their points with previous draw results for each category, helping them improve their chances before submitting an actual application, and provides information on draw history and required cut-off scores.

This initiative is part of Canada’s efforts to enhance applicants’ understanding of their immigration prospects, enabling them to make more informed decisions about planning their migration, work, and settlement in Canada.
