CGI Canada Launches App to Check Insurance Score and Reduce Car Insurance Costs

Canadian IT and insurance services company CGI has launched the MyAutoPlus app, designed to give drivers a better understanding of how insurance companies assess their risk and calculate premiums.

The app uses an insurance score system similar to a credit score, allowing users to see how insurers evaluate their profiles and understand the factors affecting pricing.

CGI confirmed that the app lets users review insurance data, including driving history and past claims, with the option to dispute inaccurate information and contact Canadian insurers for corrections. Source

Insurance scores on the app range from 300 to 900 points, based on factors such as driving record, vehicle type, number of previous claims, and driver experience.

The app also offers tools to help users improve their insurance profile, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, along with an interactive Policy Planner that shows how choices like changing vehicles or moving to a different area can impact insurance costs.

The service is free on iOS and Android, aiming to increase transparency in the Canadian insurance market and empower consumers to make smarter financial decisions.
