Turkish Airlines Updates Aircraft for Long-Haul Flights
Turkish Airlines announced a change in the type of aircraft used on one of its international long-haul routes as part of its strategy to modernize the fleet and improve operational efficiency, starting from the 2026/2027 winter season.
This decision aims to standardize the aircraft type on the specific international route instead of relying on a mixed fleet, which helps reduce technical complexities and ensures a consistent service level for passengers.
Turkish Airlines explained that the adjustment is part of a broader plan to redistribute modern aircraft on high-demand routes and long-haul flights, balancing economic efficiency with service quality.
The implementation is expected to begin with the winter flight schedule at the end of October 2026, the period when airlines globally adopt new operational plans for the winter travel season.
Experts noted that such adjustments contribute to lowering operational costs and improving the passenger experience on long-haul routes, especially international flights that require fuel-efficient, long-range aircraft with optimized crew and logistics management.
