Spain Launches New System for Booking Immigration Office Appointments to Streamline Procedures

The Spanish government has announced a new system for managing immigrant appointments at immigration offices across the country, aiming to simplify procedures and reduce long waiting times outside the offices.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the new system allows citizens and residents to book appointments online in advance, with the option to choose the day and time that suits their personal schedule, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving the quality of public services for immigrants and the Arab community in Spain.

According to the official announcement, the system will be implemented starting mid-February 2026, with a transitional period to ensure a smooth shift from the old system and provide technical support for users of the new service.

The ministry also clarified that appointments will be booked through a unified online platform covering all immigration offices in the country, helping to reduce crowding and waiting times while ensuring fair distribution of appointments among all applicants.

The new system also includes appointment reminders via email and SMS to prevent missed appointments, which experts consider an important step toward improving the immigrant experience and reducing bureaucratic obstacles.

This initiative is part of a series of government measures to enhance services for residents in Spain, reflecting the authorities’ commitment to developing digital infrastructure and facilitating access to official services.
