New Snowstorm Hits Ontario in the Coming Days
Authorities in Ontario, Canada, have announced preparations for a new phase of weather fluctuations, including a snowstorm expected before the end of January.
This comes after the region experienced an unprecedented snowstorm that resulted in massive snow accumulation in Greater Toronto, leading to school closures and transportation disruptions.
A statement from Environment Canada indicated that Toronto Pearson International Airport recorded about 23 cm of snow last Thursday, the highest daily accumulation on January 15 since 1863, breaking the previous record.
As the current storm subsides, the latest weather models suggest the possibility of another heavy snowfall in southern Ontario in the coming days, with varying estimates across forecasts, reflecting the continuation of harsh winter conditions in some areas.
Weather predictions indicate additional snowfall starting Friday night, with 2–4 cm expected in some Canadian regions, raising concerns about the persistence of severe winter conditions toward the end of the month.
